BMA Friends Group Members connect with other art enthusiasts, enjoy cultural outings, visit private collections, and are given opportunities to meet with curators, artists, and art experts. Membership in a BMA Friends Group offers participants three events focused on their area of interest and one signature celebration highlighting the Museum’s accomplishments and acquisitions during the year.

Friends of Modern and Contemporary Art
(FoMaCA)

FoMaCA Members develop and enrich their understanding of modern and contemporary art, support significant programs and exhibitions that broaden understanding of the art of our time, and contribute to acquisitions that enhance the BMA's collection of contemporary art.

Friends of the Arts of Africa, the Pacific, and the Americas (FAPA)

FAPA supports the BMA’s pioneering and dynamic collections of art from Africa, the Pacific, and the Americas and promotes interest in the art of these cultures within the diverse communities of Baltimore. Members enjoy curator-led tours of exhibitions, special museum events, small group consultations, and visits to private collections.

Friends of the American Wing
(FOAW)

Founded in 1970, the FoAW is a dedicated group of BMA Members who support the preservation and growth of the BMA’s important collections of decorative arts and American painting and sculpture.

Print, Drawing, and Photograph Society
(PDPS)

Join PDPS

For the past 50 years, the PDPS has played a major role at the BMA, educating its Members, helping to build the Museum's collection, and supporting important exhibitions and programs. PDPS Members are art lovers, artists, collectors, scholars, docents, teachers, and students—all united by their shared enthusiasm for works on paper.


Participation in a BMA Friends Group is an exclusive benefit offered to BMA Members in the Contributor and Council Programs. BMA Friends Group membership fees are $250 per person. (JJC)

JJC is one of the oldest African-American museum support groups in the country. Named after an 18th-century African-American portrait painter who lived and worked in Maryland, its mission is to forge meaningful connections between Baltimore’s African-American communities and the BMA by promoting and highlighting the achievements of African-American artists.
