Commons Collaboration: Architectural intervention
From October 25, 2015 — September 1, 2016
As a complement to the exhibition Imagining Home, Baltimore-based artist Marian April Glebes, in collaboration with the non-profit building materials reuse facility The Loading Dock, will present a project on the material nature of home. The collaboration will explore what our homes are made from and what this can tell us about our shared history and sense of place. The project will consist of installations at the BMA as well as The Loading Dock, accompanied by a year-long series of public programs. Programs begin this February and continue through August.
The Collaborators
Marian April Glebes is a Baltimore-based conceptual and mixed-media artist whose work addresses issues of the urban/suburban environment, site-specificity, and the art object as a tool for social change.
The Loading Dock, Inc., increases the supply and use of affordable building materials for housing and community improvement by redirecting landfill-bound, reusable materials into productive use.
