Inspiring Support for the BMA

The In a New Light Campaign is the most ambitious and successful philanthropic initiative in the Museum’s history. Through gifts from generous donors the BMA has already renovated and reinstalled the Contemporary Wing, which reopened in November 2012. And theres much more to come, including renovated galleries with powerful presentations of the Museum’s outstanding American, African, and Asian collections.

As we look forward to our 100th anniversary in 2014, we take our inspiration from the visionary philanthropists who throughout our history have understood the importance of a great museum to the success of a great city. Your support of this Campaign is an investment in the power of art to inspire and enrich the city and region.

This Campaign began with a $65 million goal and, to date, has raised $72.9 million—$31.2 million as endowment funds for such core activities as collections care, exhibitions, education, and public access. While we celebrate this landmark achievement, your continuing support is essential. The highest priority of this last phase of the Campaign is the successful completion of the capitol renovations. We must raise an additional $6.3 million to achieve this goal.

For everyone who cares about the BMA and its future, now is the time to step up and help us complete this spectacular effort. Together, we are making the BMA a vibrant destination, a greater source of pride for our city, and a leader of the cultural life of our region.
